"Alliance for Global Good Invites Proposals for Innovation Fund

"The Alliance for Global Good (AFGG)  is accepting applications for its Innovation Fund, a venture philanthropy program designed to benefit medium-sized nonprofit organizations in the United States that are working to solve global problems.

"Grants of up to $90,000 will be made to support nonprofits in implementing mission-relevant revenue-generating strategies. Funds are meant to provide late-stage financing to move initiatives into the implementation phase.

"To be eligible, organizations must have a clear strategy for mission-consistent revenue-generating activity and have conducted enough of the needed research to have in place a mature strategy for execution. All plans must be reflected in a traditional business plan that demonstrates Innovation Fund resources will be used for implementation purposes.

"Eligible organizations must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; be engaged in the areas of health, education, environment, poverty, and/or world relations outside the United States; be able to demonstrate organizational stability; and have had total revenue over the past five years averaging below $20 million and above $5 million a year. A significant part of that revenue must have been derived from at least one type of traditional funding (e.g., charitable giving, governmental support, investment income) stream.

"AFGG will host a one-hour informational conference call at 12:00 noon (EST) on April 22, 2013.

"See the Alliance for Global Good's Web site for eligibility and application guidelines."
